My Story

Love Bug Alert!! Meet Mowgli! This sweet as pie pup is an 11-month-old, 55lb, boxer/pittie mix. He’s a playful, happy, affectionate boy whose tail wags and puppy kisses can brighten even the darkest of days. He’s an adorably goofy guy who will keep you smiling!

Mowgli enjoys going on walks around the neighborhood and often takes his favorite stuffed shark toy along (see cute video). This boy thinks every week is shark week and we’re not gonna tell him otherwise Mowgli is a low to medium energy pup who can go from romping around the yard with his toys, to snuggling up with his foster mom for a good, long snooze. Most of the day he’s in couch potato mode, which makes him the perfect work-from-home companion. He’ll even provide you with a white noise playlist that’s full of soothing snore sounds Sir Mowgli’s love language is attention. He soaks it up!

The perfect family for this cuddle bug is one who will be happy to shower him with affection, include him in their daily activities, and also has experience with large dogs. He’s happiest when he’s near his people, so he would thrive in a home where he’s not left alone too often. He would do well with another low-medium energy dog, but would also be just fine as an only dog. He’s been the perfect gentleman around his feline foster siblings, and while we haven’t observed him with children, we can tell that his motto is ‘the more the merrier’ when it comes to how many hands are around to pet him. Because of Mowgli’s size, we feel it would be best for him to be placed in a home with older children (10+), or with a family where the children are used to having a large dog. This boy doesn’t have an aggressive bone in his body, but he’s still young and not aware of his size. A fenced in yard is preferred, but apartment living would be considered for the right family.

Mowgli is currently being fostered in Texas, but he is available for adoption in both Texas and the northeast.
