Molly is a senior Yellow Lab mix. She does not act her age and can be plenty active at times but most often prefers laying near you. She has bright, inquisitive eyes and notices everything going on around her. She wants to be involved in activities with the other dogs in the foster family. You can see that in her attitude, but she knows her limits. However, she sometimes throws caution to the wind and runs along behind the other dogs when they chase a squirrel or have zoomies.
Molly is a rather submissive dog and lets the other dogs take the lead and she tries to go along with the flow as much as she can. Her foster family has a large overflowing basket of dog toys she will chomp onto and carry around. She loves to be pet, frequently walking up to you,
wanting to be loved on.
Molly is house-trained and she loves walks but is rather slow. She likes to stop and sniff around. She can handle some stairs but will not be able to climb stairs to the second floor. Two steps down to the backyard are not a problem, but the more steps there are the more problems she will have getting to the yard and back into the house. For that reason, she will do best in a house with 2 or less stairs.
Molly is amazingly gentle with children, even 1-year-olds, and loves it when they cuddle with her. Her foster family is retired and spends quite a bit of time at home. She does well when they are gone for a few hours at a time but we would prefer that Molly’s forever hoe be with a family that is home more than not.
Molly is available for adoption in Texas only.
