Mercy

If you’re looking for an active playmate, we have the dog for you! Mercy is an 18-month-old  Lab/Pointer mix weighing 40 lbs. While she has a bum leg, she doesn’t let that slow her down one little bit. She was injured as a pup and without any treatment, the bone healed incorrectly so she has one leg that is shorter than the rest, but it doesn’t cause her any issues at all so far. She likes to play and run, but really loves to squirrel watch and sunbathe. She listens well and learns very quickly. She is crate-trained and potty trained, and she’ll let you know when she needs to go outside.

Mercy loves being with her humans, but loves being outdoors. too. She could absolutely be alone for several hours with no problems at all, but loves to know you are there! She’s good with cats, BUT they must be non-reactive cats, if they run or hiss she will give chase. She does get “nippy” when she’s excited, so no small children. We are recommending children over the age of 8 only.  Mercy has a big wiggle butt that could also knock little kids over if they were in the way.

Mercy is currently being fostered in Texas, but she is available for adoption in both Texas and the northeast.
