Lemon Drop is a 6 month old, 9lb Chiweenie. She’s a joyful girl with the sweetest personality, who will melt your heart with her happy little smile and adorable, floppy ears. This pup is one smart cookie! She quickly learned “sit” just by watching what her foster siblings did during treat time. She’s quite the little observer. In fact, one of her favorite backyard activities is birdwatching. You’ll often find her mesmerized as she gazes at the birds on trees and roof tops. Several have landed in front of her, but this sweetheart has never tried to chase them, only watched in awe.
Lemon Drop isn’t a fan of being held, but she’ll sure snuggle up right next to you during naps and bedtime. She’ll sleep right by your side all night, and her sweet good morning kisses are the best start to the day. Lemon is looking for a family with someone who’s home the majority of the time and has at least one other dog. She enjoys playing with friendly, gentle dogs and does best with ones that are closer to her size (bigger dogs may be considered if there’s also a small dog in the home).
She does require a secure, fenced in yard to keep her safe, as she’ll be considered a flight risk until she’s fully adjusted to her new home and views her people as her safe keepers. She would do well in a home with a low to medium noise/energy level, and we think she would do okay with older children (14 plus – younger children may be considered) who can fully understand and respect her needs and boundaries. She would also do just as well in a home with a single person who has another dog, so she gets all the attention she needs and doesn’t feel lonely.
Lemon Drop is available for adoption in Texas only.
