Maggie is a 1 1/2 year old heeler weighing in at 38 pounds. She started her life with Addicus as a rescue from the streets of Lockhart, TX. Maggie was pregnant and soon due to deliver 8 healthy pups during one of the worst winter storms in TX history. Her foster got her safe from the shelter just in time before the lights went out and 6 days later, she became a momma. In her 2 1/2 months in foster care, Maggie has thrived. She successfully raised and weaned her pups who all but 2 have gone to forever homes and is now ready for her own forever home where she can continue mothering.
Maggie has been described as a "mother hen" to children. In typical heeler fashion, she has a job to do and that is to protect her kids. If they leave her sight, Maggie will sound the alarm and let you know. You couldn't ask for a better Nanny dog. This kind soul is fond of playing fetch, chasing squirrels and loves her squeaky toys. Maggie can be trusted in and out of the house, she doesn't require a crate, walks well on a leash, quickly learned to use her foster's dog door, loves being tucked in to her bed at night and has gotten along with cats and is learning to trust other dogs when properly introduced. Our dream is for Maggie to go to a home with a sizable yard to play in and a young family with children who won't be off to college anytime soon. You can't imagine the love this girl has to give until you've received it. Give your family the gift of Maggie and see how she can complete your home.
