Saved by his Addicus foster from euthanasia at a shelter where Luke had been picked up as a stray. This boy was a shelter favorite! Luke weighs in at a strapping 55 pounds and is neutered and fully vetted. He’s estimated to be about 4 years old and we see a combination of Labrador and German Shepherd in both his looks and demeanor.
When asked what Luke’s favorite things to do were, his foster answered, “to be with his person.” Luke will follow where you go, he’ll snooze where you sleep, sit where you rest and ride where you drive. A great traveler in the car; Luke will settle in on the backseat for any adventure.
Next on his list of favorites were going for walks and playing with toys and balls. Although he enjoys the company of another dog, he has no sense of boundaries in their personal space and can sometimes be overwhelming depending on who his playmate is.
The perfect home for Luke would be with someone who spent more time outdoors than in; he loves a sizable yard and a long walk. His perfect person would be someone who is experienced with training and discipline. Luke is an incredibly intelligent boy and a fast learner. A family or individual with older children would be best because of his lack of awareness of his own mass and energy while playing. Luke should go to a feline free home.
Luke is eager to please. He begs for attention and in return gives affection. He is loyal and willing and after such a close call to an end of his 4 years, he deserves the second chance to prove that they all had it wrong the whole time. He’s been a keeper all along.
