Kipper is a star! He spent 77 days in a small city Animal Shelter waiting for his family to reclaim him. When no one came, he eagerly looked for a new forever family. Still.... No one came! He slept alone through the Texas Snow Storm and Valentines, watched all the other newly adopted pups leave to enjoy their spring break with new families, and even watched all the puppies get adopted just in time for Easter. While all the other pups found their forever homes, Kipper sat in his cinderblock bedroom for 77 days! He loved visits with all the volunteers and was always so happy to stretch his legs in the play yard. He posed for all his photo ops and was a perfect kiddo! Finally it was Kipper's turn to head to rescue! Kipper spent a week with his foster family. They showed him love, 2 full meals a day, how to play gently with the older pups, and how sweet is was to sleep in the foster parent's bed! But Kipper needed a bit more. So he moved to a new foster. This is where he was able to get all his wiggles out. His second foster home has doggie daycare and boarding pups to entertain Kipper all day long! He learned to take trips to the vet, walk on a leash, play in a big pack, and eat in his kennel.
Kipper is extremely dog friendly, loves kiddos, rides well in the car, plays with toys, enjoys chew bones, knows to stay off furniture, has learned not to jump, is learning not to pull on leash, is working hard on being confident without humans, and quickly accepting that his kennel is a fun place to hang out and relax. Kipper has a good amount of energy and would like an active home. He will need continued direction as he learns basic obedience and manners. He is a quick learner and truly wants to please.
Kipper is available for adoption in the Northeast only.
