Meet Holmes! Holmes is a 50 lb pointer/hound mix who is as gentle and sweet as he is handsome (look at that face) and he is the perfect companion who thrives being close to his human(s). He does great on walks, sniffing and taking in the sights and smells. Holmes is just learning to have fun with other dogs. He’s doing very well with his foster family's 2 established dogs and they’ve said they have never heard him bark! He would do well in a home with or without other dogs. Holmes can be a bit of a scaredy-cat until he feels comfortable in his environment. He is timid and is looking for a family who will be patient, understanding and show him what it feels like to trust and be loved and he will absolutely give it back in return.

Holmes is content to sleep in his crate at night (or snuggle with his trusted human). He loves to go on frequent walks and MUST be leashed at all times as he loves “to explore” otherwise. A fenced yard would be great for this guy.

Holmes has been in a foster home with other dogs and children and does well with both. A person who works from home or is home frequently would make a great match for Holmes. This special guy has suffered some separation anxiety, but with a consistent loving touch, belly rubs, scratches behind his ears, Holmes can be totally chill. He is also a wonderful snuggler. We recommend a bond between Holmes and his person before he is left alone his first few weeks.
