Abbott - Hospice Adoption

Abbott is approximately 7 years old and a Shih Tzu mix. Found as a stray, he was matted, dirty and underweight. Once groomed, we could see that he's going to be a very handsome dog some day! In his foster home, Abbott is quiet and laid back. He get's along well with all of his doggie brother and sisters and was non-reactive upon introduction. He appears to be house trained and ignores the household cat. Abbott is a bit quirky in that he "groans" which could be mistaken for a growl. His foster mom thinks that it's just his way of communicating. Abbott is looking for a quiet place to call his own. He would do best in a household that has experience with dogs and he prefers women over men. He needs to be an indoor dog because he seems to be frightened of the outdoors, especially when there is rain in the forecast. He has warmed up nicely in his foster home and has bonded with his human mom. He likes to sleep in bed with her and doesn't move a muscle all night long! Abbott has a cancerous tumor on his lip. Per our vet, the growth is a Stage 1 slow growing tumor. Because it’s slow growing and the possibility that once removed, it may become aggressive, we are looking for a hospice home for Abbott. There is no telling how long he may have the tumor. Right now he is happy, playful and it doesn’t seem to bother his too much. Please consider giving Abbott the love that he needs.
