See Prince in Action!
Prince has a quiet, easygoing way about him — until a squeaky toy appears. Then his playful side comes out, and this otherwise laid-back little guy is quite happy entertaining himself with his prized noisemaker. He may hang back when a routine or environment is new, but once he’s had time to take it all in, his friendly personality starts to show.
At eight months old and about 20 pounds, Prince is a petite Beagle mix for adoption who strikes a nice balance between playtime and downtime. He’d enjoy a backyard where he can wander and investigate, followed by some quality time with his people — and, naturally, a squeaky toy or two. He enjoys other dogs and could happily share his home with a canine friend, but he’s equally comfortable being your only dog.
Prince also has a practical independent streak. He settles well in his crate and can comfortably handle a full workday on his own, making him a great match for someone with a typical working schedule. Give him a little patience while he learns the rhythm of your household, and you’ll get to watch his confidence grow. If you’re hoping to adopt a rescue dog who brings together an easygoing nature, a playful streak, and just enough independence, this rescue dog for adoption through Addicus’ Legacy Dog Rescue could be just your speed.
Prince is available for adoption throughout Texas through Addicus’ Legacy Dog Rescue, and to approved adopters in CT, VT, NH, NY, NJ, PA, MD, VA, NC, OH, and TN via a trusted transport partner. With fosters across the region and an Austin-area hub, we place dogs rescued from Texas and Mexico with loving foster families throughout the country.

HOW TO APPLY
Please fill out an adoption application and be sure to completely fill in all fields, as our volunteer adoption coordinators will only follow up on completed applications.
Our coordinators will follow up on all the vet and personal references that you provide and then reach out to you to schedule an interview. It may take a few days as we are 100% volunteer based and our wonderful coordinators also have jobs and families. Please be patient and know that we will be in touch!
Our interviews are typically around 30 minutes in length. We will talk about your home, yard, current and past pets, kids, your schedule and what kind of dog you are looking for. If we feel the dog you applied for is not a good fit, we will suggest a different dog for you to consider.
