Lily

3 Month Old Female
9 lbs

Read my story!

Lily has decided that bravery looks a lot like joining the big dogs for whatever adventure happens next. At just three months old, she’s curious, confident, and happiest exploring with her people and furry friends nearby. And when the day winds down, she’s perfectly content curling up beside her crew for a well-earned nap.

This 9-pound Terrier mix for adoption has come a long way from the timid puppy who was initially unsure of everything. Now she races to meals—and may request seconds—while investigating every corner of the house. She has also discovered shoes, which she proudly carries back to her crate “fortress” for safekeeping.

Other dogs have helped Lily find her confidence, and she needs a friendly resident dog in her new home to continue showing her the ropes. An active family with a canine playmate would give this adventurous little girl the companionship she loves. She can spend some time on her own, especially with her crate and dog sibling nearby, but a full workday every day would be a lot for such a young puppy. A midday break or flexible schedule will help her succeed.

If you’re ready to adopt a rescue dog and enjoy the fun of raising a confident, curious puppy, this rescue dog for adoption is ready to keep discovering the world with you.

Lily is available for adoption throughout Texas through Addicus’ Legacy Dog Rescue, and to approved adopters in CT, VT, NH, NY, NJ, PA, MD, VA, NC, OH, and TN via a trusted transport partner. With fosters across the region and an Austin-area hub, we place dogs rescued from Texas and Mexico with loving foster families throughout the country.

HOW TO APPLY

Please fill out an adoption application and be sure to completely fill in all fields, as our volunteer adoption coordinators will only follow up on completed applications.

Our coordinators will follow up on all the vet and personal references that you provide and then reach out to you to schedule an interview. It may take a few days as we are 100% volunteer based and our wonderful coordinators also have jobs and families. Please be patient and know that we will be in touch!

Our interviews are typically around 30 minutes in length. We will talk about your home, yard, current and past pets, kids, your schedule and what kind of dog you are looking for. If we feel the dog you applied for is not a good fit, we will suggest a different dog for you to consider.
