Hana has perfected the art of living her best life. If there’s sunshine, she’ll be stretched out in it showing off her giant belly like she’s at a luxury spa retreat, and if there’s a squirrel nearby, she considers it her personal responsibility to supervise the situation immediately. She can go from calmly chewing a favorite stick to breaking into a goofy little dance party the second her people walk through the door.
This Shepherd for adoption has a laid-back, affectionate personality and appreciates the quieter side of life — relaxing in the yard, cruising along on car rides, or sitting proudly with her face tilted toward an open sunroof so she can feel the wind in her ears.
Another dog is an important part of Hana’s happy place. She feels most comfortable and confident with a friendly canine sibling beside her, so her new home will need to have a dog who can show her the ropes and share the good life with her. Her people don’t need to be home all day, though. Hana settles comfortably while they’re at work and can handle a full workday on her own, making her a great fit for a normal working household.
A peaceful, low-traffic home with a backyard, a canine buddy, and people who appreciate her easygoing ways would suit Hana beautifully. If you’re looking to adopt a rescue dog in Texas, this rescue dog for adoption might just make you smile every time you find her belly-up in her favorite patch of sunshine.
Hana is available for adoption throughout Texas through Addicus’ Legacy Dog Rescue. With fosters across the region and an Austin-area hub, we welcome adopters from across the Lone Star State. HOW TO APPLY
Please fill out an adoption application and be sure to completely fill in all fields, as our volunteer adoption coordinators will only follow up on completed applications.
Our coordinators will follow up on all the vet and personal references that you provide and then reach out to you to schedule an interview. It may take a few days as we are 100% volunteer based and our wonderful coordinators also have jobs and families. Please be patient and know that we will be in touch!
Our interviews are typically around 30 minutes in length. We will talk about your home, yard, current and past pets, kids, your schedule and what kind of dog you are looking for. If we feel the dog you applied for is not a good fit, we will suggest a different dog for you to consider.
