At just one year old, Enzo is already a wonderful housemate. He’s fully house-trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and has been happiest when life follows a predictable rhythm. A walk around the neighborhood, time exploring the yard with his canine friends, and a pocket full of treats are all it takes to make his tail wag. Food is definitely the way to this handsome boy’s heart, and positive reinforcement has helped him continue building confidence every day.
Enzo enjoys the company of other dogs and truly blossoms when he has a confident canine companion to show him the ropes. He also lives peacefully with cats. Because he’s had several changes in his young life, new people and long periods alone can still feel overwhelming, so he’s hoping for an adopter who understands that trust is built one small success at a time. The reward is watching a cautious dog become your shadow as he realizes he’s finally home.

With fosters across the region and an Austin-area hub, we place dogs rescued from Texas and Mexico with loving foster families throughout the country.

Please fill out an adoption application and be sure to completely fill in all fields, as our volunteer adoption coordinators will only follow up on completed applications.
Our coordinators will follow up on all the vet and personal references that you provide and then reach out to you to schedule an interview. It may take a few days as we are 100% volunteer based and our wonderful coordinators also have jobs and families. Please be patient and know that we will be in touch!
Our interviews are typically around 30 minutes in length. We will talk about your home, yard, current and past pets, kids, your schedule and what kind of dog you are looking for. If we feel the dog you applied for is not a good fit, we will suggest a different dog for you to consider.
