See Cody in Action!
Cody may give a new person a thoughtful once-over at first, but it doesn’t take long before his goofy side comes bouncing out. This silly, happy boy has a system for his stuffies: take every squeaky toy out one by one, scatter them around the house, and make sure each gets its turn.
At five months old and about 45 pounds, Cody is a Great Dane for adoption with an active puppy’s enthusiasm for fun. Water is a particular favorite—he’ll plunge his entire face into his puppy pool and then tear around the yard in celebration. He’s surprisingly thoughtful with his grouchy senior foster sister and even tries to engage his foster kitty brother gently. A confident resident dog could be a wonderful role model, although Cody can also be happy soaking up his people’s attention as the only dog.
Cody is still working on potty training and building his confidence with time alone. He’d especially enjoy a home where someone is around often; with a little planning and a midday break, a working household can suit him too. If you’re hoping to adopt a rescue dog and enjoy the wonderfully goofy stage of raising a big puppy, this rescue dog for adoption is ready to make you laugh.
Cody is available for adoption throughout Texas through Addicus’ Legacy Dog Rescue, and to approved adopters in Texas.

HOW TO APPLY
Please fill out an adoption application and be sure to completely fill in all fields, as our volunteer adoption coordinators will only follow up on completed applications.
Our coordinators will follow up on all the vet and personal references that you provide and then reach out to you to schedule an interview. It may take a few days as we are 100% volunteer based and our wonderful coordinators also have jobs and families. Please be patient and know that we will be in touch!
Our interviews are typically around 30 minutes in length. We will talk about your home, yard, current and past pets, kids, your schedule and what kind of dog you are looking for. If we feel the dog you applied for is not a good fit, we will suggest a different dog for you to consider.
